So I was on Instagram yesterday looking through my timeline. I follow a lot of fandom accounts on Instagram and most of them are in the Divergent fandom. Since Allegiant came out almost 2 weeks ago most of the accounts promised to be spoiler free. When I refreshed my timeline yesterday on Instagram, the first thing that popped up was an allegiant spoiler. ( I’m not going to say what it was because I don’t want to be a dickwad and ruin the book for any of y’all).
The account who posted the spoilers posted another picture a few hours later saying that they were sorry, but they did tag the post as a spoiler. A lot of the people who commented on that post were saying things like, ” well, if I post something and it’s tagged as a spoiler, it’s not my fault if you read it. I told you it was a spoiler and you read it, that’s on you.” Okay…. See, I have a problem with that, whenever you are looking at your timeline on Instagram, the first thing you’re going to see is the picture not the tag. You can’t freaking expect everyone to notice the tag before they notice the picture. So, just because you tag the post as a spoiler, it’s doesn’t mean that I’m going to see the tag. I didn’t even see the tag, so don’t assume that I saw the tag and ignored it. I’m just saying, be considerate and don’t post spoilers.
